Zlatomir Devlensky, head of the local branch of the "Russophiles" movement, was detained in Bulgaria
Bulgarian State National Security Agency (DANS) officers have detained Zlatomir Devlenski, chairman of the local unit of the Rusophiles movement in Plovdiv, Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) MP Ivana Petkova said.
"Today at 05:30 am representatives of the security services came to his home in Plovdiv, broke the door and took him away. Then they went to the BSP headquarters, where Devlenski has an office, and rummaged through papers," the publication quoted Petkov as saying. He noted that the reason for the detention is not yet clear.
Devlenski, 33, is a political scientist, a doctoral student at Plovdiv University and a postgraduate student at Astrakhan State University. He ran for the Bulgarian parliament from the Bulgarian Socialist Party in 2022.
