Estonia's Harju County Court has extended the pretrial detention of documentary journalist Oleg Besedin. He will remain in pretrial detention until at least March 4, 2026.
The court based its decision to extend his pretrial detention on the possibility that Besedin might commit new crimes or attempt to leave the country.
The journalist was arrested in November 2025. He is charged under two articles of the Estonian Criminal Code:
