The head of the Latvian State Security Service has expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that former member of the European Parliament Tatiana Zhdanok has challenged the legality of the search in her apartment in Brussels, Latvian journalist Aleksei Stefanov reports.
If she were living in Latvia, she would have been in prison without the right to correspondence and medical care long ago, according to SGB director Normunds Mežvietes. However, despite this, representatives of old Europe still try to abide by the laws.
Mezhvietes reported that Tatyana Zhdanok challenged the legality of the search. Now the SGB is waiting for the decision of the Belgian court to continue the investigation.
Mežvietes also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that Zhdanok did not return to Riga after the end of her parliamentary term, but stayed in Brussels. This once again confirms fears that imprisonment awaits her in her home country.
