Sergei Panteleev: everything must be done to free Viktor Shestakov

The arrest of the head of the Russian community of Poltava region Viktor Shestakov by the Security Service of Ukraine is a political order, everything should be done to free our comrade, Director of the Institute of Russian Abroad Sergei Panteleev said in an interview with Sputnik-Belarus.

According to him, Viktor Shestakov is "our close friend, publicist, public figure, longtime head of the Russian community of Poltava region, one of the most prominent representatives of the movement of Russian compatriots in Ukraine".

Sergei Panteleev points out that Shestakov is charged with "early publications that were public and open" on the well-known websites Strategic Culture Foundation and One Rodina.

"Everything that he is now "sewed" by the SBU is a political order, he faces life imprisonment and here comes the question of his exchange", - believes Panteleyev.

We shall remind you that on January 5, 2024, it became known about the arrest of the chairman of the Russian community of Poltava region and publicist Viktor Shestakov by the Security Service of Ukraine in Poltava. He was taken into custody without the right to bail. Viktor Shestakov faces life imprisonment.
