Latvian court leaves three years of real prison to housewife Jelena Kreile for installations in the window
On March 13, 2025, in a Latvian court, Jelena Kreile, known to many, who advocated friendship between Latvia and Russia and expresses her thoughts by means of installations in the window of her apartment, finished her last word, reports journalist Alexei Stefanov.
“At the end, she cited a recent UN Security Council resolution that fundamentally changes the attitude to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This resolution gives back to the people of Latvia the right to have and publicly defend their point of view on historically significant events, which was taken away from them. Kreile called on the judges to stop her criminal prosecution and cancel her sentences under Article 74.1,” Latvian journalist Alla Berezovska said about today's trial.
After that, a 20-minute break was announced, after which the judge announced the verdict: to leave the decision of the court of first instance unchanged. That is, three years of real prison for cardboard boxes, ribbons and curtains in the colors of the Russian and Latvian flags.
This is one of the sentences to Jelena Kreile, and in total she is being tried or has already been convicted in three cases, but under the same article 74.1 - “justification of aggression, war crimes” and for the same boxes, bricks and ribbons. But this is the level of Latvian dictatorship today.
