Arrested on February 7, 2025 under Article 74.1 of the Latvian Criminal Law (“justification of aggression and war crimes”) for sending war videos posted on the Internet more than a year and a half before the incident. According to some reports, the arrest was initiated by an MP from Jekabpils.
In May 2025, it became known that the 75-year-old Latvian businessman pleaded guilty and made a deal with the prosecutor's office. As a result, he received six months in prison.
