Gloria Grevtsova, former member of the Latvian Parliament, has been declared wanted

On April 3, 2024, the Latvian Prosecutor's Office charged former Parliament/Seima member Gloria Grevtsova and put her on the wanted list, Baltica portal reported.

Grevtsova is charged under two articles of the Latvian Criminal Code - for justifying "war crimes and inciting national discord." The former Latvian Seimas deputy could face up to five years in prison.

Despite the wanted notice, Grevtsova is still active on social networks. In addition, the former deputy from the list of "Union of New Latvians" is announced as the second number in the elections to the European Parliament, scheduled for the summer.

Recall that on March 8, 2024, the State Security Service requested the prosecutor's office to initiate criminal proceedings against former Latvian Parliament/Seimas deputy Gloria Grevtsova on charges of justifying war crimes.

Criminal prosecution of Grevtsova is presumed under Article 74.1 of the Criminal Law after she published a video on TikTok in which she states that in the Museum of Occupation in Riga "the facts do not coincide" and the tour guide presents "a parallel, fictitious story".

In the course of the investigation, the special service also identified other video messages by Grevtsova that contain signs of crimes. It is alleged that in these videos, Grevtsova justifies the actions of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine.
