Vadim Konoschenko was detained at the request of the US Department of Justice on 06.12.2022 (before that he was detained in October and November). He is suspected of working for the FSB. According to preliminary data, he was smuggling American electronics and ammunition for sniper weapons from Estonia to Russia.
Together with Vadim Konoschenko a certain Alexei Bryman and Vadim Ermolenko were taken into custody. They are suspected of purchasing military and dual-use products to circumvent sanctions.
They face up to 30 years in prison.
Charges are also brought against Yevgeny Grinin, Alexei Ippolitov, Boris Livshits and Svetlana Skvortsova. According to U.S. authorities, the Serniya clandestine procurement network worked under the direction of Russian intelligence services to purchase electronics and sophisticated test equipment.
