Ilya Namovir, editor-in-chief of the “Russians in Kazakhstan” portal, was denied entry to the country
On March 3, Ilya Vladimirovich Namovir, editor-in-chief of the “Russians in Kazakhstan” portal, was returning to Kazakhstan from a family trip to Russia. When passing the border control on the train, an employee of the Kazakhstani border service informed him that in the database of the border service a ban on entry had been issued for him, according to the information and analytical portal “Russia and Compatriots” - www.russkie.org.
It was not possible to find out what the ban was related to. According to employees of the Border Guard Service, the database itself did not contain any additional information except for the ban itself, and when employees tried to call their colleagues to clarify the information, the answer was simply “do not pass”, again without explaining the reason for the ban.
As a result, Ilya Namovir was escorted by Kazakh border guards by train to the Russian border, forcing him to leave in Petropavlovsk in a state of shock and deep nervousness his elderly mother with a disability, whom he accompanied on the trip. The editorial staff of the portal “Russians in Kazakhstan” expresses deep concern and bewilderment at this situation and appeals to both official Kazakhstani bodies and public organizations with a request and appeal for help in resolving this strange and disturbing situation.
The portal “Russians in Kazakhstan” has existed for 20 years already, 13 of them the portal is headed by Ilya Vladimirovich Namovir, and all these years the editorial staff of the site under his leadership worked exclusively in the legal field, and the Kazakhstani authorities did not have and do not have any official claims to Namovir himself, both administrative and, even more so, criminal in nature.
Ilya Vladimirovich is a citizen of the Russian Federation, but he was born and has lived all his life in Kazakhstan, in recent years caring for his elderly disabled mother, who is in his care.
We sincerely hope that this situation was the result of some kind of mistake and will be resolved in the near future to minimize the negative effect on all those involved.
