Severely ill human rights activist Tatyana Andriets was discharged from the hospital to participate in the trial

On May 12, 2025, during the morning rounds at the medical facility, the doctors' decision to discharge Tatjana Andriets was announced, according to independent Latvian journalist Alla Berezovskaia. This decision was made due to the deterioration of the patient's condition in hospital conditions.

“Today at the morning rounds at the hospital, doctors announced to Tatjana Andriets that they have decided to discharge her. Since, in the ... in the hospital, she's only getting worse! Even picked up such a term - hospitalism ...”, - writes Berezovskaya.

The patient was hospitalized in critical condition after she began experiencing hunger fainting due to severe nervous exhaustion. For two weeks prior to hospitalization, she had been unable to eat and also suffered from sleep disorders.

In a medical facility setting, the patient began to gradually recover and began to eat. However, on the morning of May 8, the doctors took into account that the patient was on a criminal case, accused of forming a “pro-Kremlin criminal group.” Therefore, it was decided to allow her to participate in the trial, which was held remotely.

The patient's condition worsened after that. The medical staff was unable to provide her with the necessary assistance in this situation. Having learned about the need to appear at the next court hearing on May 14, the patient, who was in an exhausted state, was notified of her impending discharge from the medical facility the next day.

It should be noted that in accordance with international norms and principles, even prisoners of war are provided with medical care. However, in this case, despite the absence of a military conflict, the patient did not receive the necessary medical support.

It seems that the court decision in the case of Tetyana Andriets is already predetermined.
