Estonian political prisoner, human rights activist Sergei Seredenko has declared a one-day hunger strike

On October 30, 2023, Russian human rights activist Sergei Seredenko, who is serving a sentence in Estonia's Viru Prison, will hold a one-day hunger strike to protest political repression in the European Union, Baltia Portal reported.

Seredenko emphasized that he has warned the prison administration that his action is social and political and is not directed against them.

Seredenko invites everyone who does not agree with the violation of human rights for political beliefs to join his action.

Recall, on September 22, 2022, Harju County Court sentenced Seredenko to 5.5 years in prison for "anti-state activity". The human rights defender was charged with participation in conferences (EP, OSCE, etc.), journalism, as well as undermining the reputation of state bodies and institutions.
