Latvia has put former MEP Andrei Mamykin on international wanted list

Former member of the European Parliament (EP) from Latvia Andrei Mamykin has been put on an international wanted list, reports Aleksey Stefanov.

The European arrest warrant for Andrei Mamykin was issued by the International Cooperation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office. It is officially reported that he is accused of glorifying and justifying war crimes.

The decision of the Prosecutor General's Office was sent to the International Cooperation Department of the State Police for placement in the information systems of international cooperation.

It is noteworthy that the emergency search for Andrei Mamykin happened after he published photos of sunset in social networks last weekend and signed them with a hint: "managed to visit my beloved Latvia for a couple of days".

We would like to remind you that the State Security Service initiated criminal proceedings against Mamykin on September 29, 2023 under Article 74.1 of the Criminal Law (on justification of genocide, crimes against humanity, peace and war crimes), "after evaluating his statements on the air of several Russian TV channels loyal to the Kremlin, as well as on social networks."
