On May 15, 2024, Latvian security services, on suspicion of espionage, arrested for two months the seriously ill mother of the "guy with the flag of Russia" Alexander Dubyago - Svetlana Nikolaeva, reports Aleksei Stefanov.
Svetlana was jailed for handing over money for a lawyer, accused of spying for Russia, to Sergei Sidorov from his sister.
Svetlana Nikolaeva is the mother of Alexander Dubjago, who marched with the Russian flag to the monument to the Liberators of Riga from Nazi invaders on May 10, 2022, was arrested and spent a month and a week in prison. Later the criminal case was closed and Dubyago was acquitted. But the Latvian authorities could not accept it - administrative proceedings were initiated. And on May 9, 2024 came the court decision - the guy was found guilty and imposed a fine on Dubyago.
Despite the serious state of health of Svetlana Nikolaeva and her being under treatment in Russia for the last month, the court in Latvia did not take these circumstances into account and sent her to prison for two months.
