The court found journalist Allan Huntsom guilty of intelligence activities against the Republic of Estonia and support for those activities. The case was considered in conciliation proceedings.
"As the trial was closed, additional circumstances cannot be disclosed," Harju County Court spokeswoman Viivika Siplane said.
In social networks with reference to the phone call of Allan Huntsom to his mother spread information that he was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
Recall, Huntsom was detained on December 7, 2023 and since then has been in Tallinn prison. He was charged with suspicion of intelligence activities against the Republic of Estonia and support for such actions.
Huntsom in 2015 was one of the founders of the NGO Dobrosvet, which supplied humanitarian aid to Donbass. He was one of the organizers of the "Immortal Regiment" procession. In 2017, he joined the OLPE, which he left in May 2022.
A year later - in May 2023 - joined the ranks of the new Koos party.
According to one of Koos leaders Oleg Ivanov, who is currently in Russia, Huntsom had planned to move to the Russian Federation shortly before his arrest.
