Sentenced on November 2, 2023 for 1 year suspended sentence for “glorification and justification of Russian war crimes”. On November 21, 2023 a new case under Article 74.1 “Public glorification and justification of aggression and war crimes” was initiated. On January 21, 2024, the Latvian police refused to initiate criminal proceedings against Jelena Krejla for an attempted assault with injury, which was committed on January 7, 2024.
On March 13, 2025, the Latvian court finished its last word, after which the judge announced the verdict: to leave the decision of the court of first instance unchanged. That is, three years of real prison for cardboard boxes, ribbons and curtains in the colors of the Russian and Latvian flags. This is one of the sentences to Jelena Kreile, and in total she is being tried or has already been convicted in three cases, but under the same article 74.1 - “justification of aggression, war crimes” and for the same boxes, bricks and ribbons.
Total: 2 years of probation “for the poster” was replaced by 1 year of real term and added 3 more years “for the ribbons”.
